Around 2013 I started studying the works of the early New Mexico Modernist Andrew Dasburg simultaneously with the figurative works of Bay Area artist Richard Diebenkorn. In 2014 I began painting plein air oils around Galisteo and Santa Fe County using line and mass to emphasize the abstract in nature.

CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPES (Squeegee Technique)

SQUEEGEE TECHNIQUE In 1998 I read where Gerhard Richter used a squeegee like apparatus to apply paint in creating his abstracts. With that in mind, in 2002 while living in Lyme, Connecticut, I purchased window squeegees in various sizes and began experimenting with acrylics and oils later evolving into mostly landscape imagery.
